How do I change from my accountant to Huysamen Westraad Inc?

I want to launch a new business. Where do I start?

When do I need to register for VAT?

According to the VAT Act, you must register when your sales exceed R1 000 000 over a consecutive 12-month period. You may also register voluntarily when your sales exceed R50 000.

Which business expenses can I claim for tax purposes?

Basically any expenses incurred to generate your income. There are actually more expenses that SARS allow in certain circumstances. We specialise in this. Have a look at our services for more information.

As a business owner or sole proprietor, when do I pay my income tax?

Provisional tax:
- Every six months
Income tax:
- Companies: within 12 months after year-end
- Sole proprietors: within 11 months after year-end
This is a general rule but it can become very technical and you should definitely book a consultation to analyse your specific situation.
